Sharecropper Dinner

Categories: Home,Sharecropper

Our Annual Sharecropper Dinner is on Sunday, November 8 at 5.30 pm. This dinner is an important part of our social calendar.   It is one of the many occasions when, as a church family, we gather in a setting where we can just have a good time sharing in meal, conversations and fellowship. It is important to know something about our social activities such as the spring BBQ, Corn Roast and Camp Fire and Sharecropper Dinner. These are not merely social times for us. They are a means to an end. The end is service to others. Through the spring BBQ we raise funds to support the Yellow Brick House. This is a shelter which offers shelter to women fleeing abused relationship. Our Corn Roast and Sharecropper Dinner raise funds for the Food Grain Project. Whatever we raise through our efforts the government of Canada multiples it by four. The end result is that many mouths in poor countries are fed through our Sharecropper Project of which the dinner is only a part.

Special envelopes will be made available at the dinner for people to make the donations to the Sharecropper Project.

The menu for the dinner is roast beef, mashed potatoes, salads and dessert. Unlike previous years, members are not asked to bring salads and desserts; all are provided.   Please put your name on the sign-up sheet to indicate that you (your family)will attend. This is important as it will help the organisers to purchase and prepare to cater for all adequately. If, for any reason, you cannot get your name on the sign-up sheet, please call the office and let us now that you will be coming.
