Our Sharecropper Project wheat field on the south west corner of Warden Avenue and the Stouffville-Gormley Road was harvested on Friday, August 8.  After a wet start to the week, drier weather prevailed for the rest of the week, enabling the crop to be combined by Galten Farms. The yield was good and the quality was excellent.  The crop was dried at the Doner Farm storage facility and pre-sold last spring.  The results of the sale will be available soon.

Our next Sharecropper fundraising event will be the church’s annual Fall Corn Roast and Campfire on Sunday, September 14 at 5:00 pm at the Smith Farm on McCowan Road north of Major MacKenzie Drive.  More details about this event can be found here.
